In early 2009, ACS
asked companies in Alaska to submit their ideas for how to use virtually unlimited bandwidth. AMI responded with its concept for eWorX Integrated Services. It turns out that we're not the only ones who believe that Integrated Services are the future of business. ACS selected our ideas as the Grand Prize Winner and we threw a party to celebrate! After all, the prize is game-changing for not only AMI, but for our clients and organizations in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest as well.

With the new AKORN cable, we'll be better able to serve our larger clients and provision IT services to smaller organizations that were previously unaffordable. The free bandwidth will allow us to significantly grow our business. With this type of connectivity, and the right idea, we'll compete on a national rather than regional level. The possibilities are limitless. The successful delivery of a national service would put Alaska on the technology map and eliminate any preconceived ideas that technology services cannot be delivered directly from Alaska.
Furthermore, the success of our eWorX Integrated Services Framework is directly tied to network connectivity and bandwidth. Our biggest constraint to growth has been bandwidth availability and cost. Now, with the chains set free, we can change the way business is done in Alaska and beyond.
